Why Posithanks could change your life!Posithanks Volume 6 –> 365 Themes Of Gratitude.

Theme 159 Today we are thankful for our shoes, and our lives that fill them.

Recently I had the privilege of touring the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. I highly recommend going if you get the chance.  In fact, I really think everyone should go.

It was no small challenge to balance as much of a tasteful presentation as possible under the circumstances.  All graphic pictures were behind a cement wall that adults could look down upon should they choose, or not, but were screened from children.

The museum was balanced with not just the World War II story of the war and the atrocity to Jews, Gypsies, Masons, Handicapped and Jehovah Witness, and also included the important element of Neutral with the story of the Curse Of St. Lois a boat denied entry in both Cuba and the US.

Best of all, it reconized the heroins that risked their lives and made a difference and also made the critical connection with other such genocide in Cechnya and Rwanda with a focus to educate and examine ways for the world to avoid such madness again with the Genocide Prevention Task Force.

Of the many pictures, stories and displays like the railway car in which you could touch the walls and know that this was one of many walls where there were once hands clamoring in desperation.  The one picture locked in my mind will be the room of shoes with the piles of shoes that once barely protected the feet of so many precious lives.

Yet another thing we take for granted each and every day.  The shoes on our feet.

PIQ Positive Imperative Question. What do you take for granted?  Will you try and stop each day and appreciate all that you are given?

Big Hugs!

Be Positive Without Being Positive

Richard Bransons Necker Island - photo by RobinB

Richard Branson's Necker Island - photo by RobinB

Yes, you read the title correctly.  Today I want to address the difference between being positive and being positive.

Let me explain.  The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary gives no less than eight major definitions (and 18 sub-definitions) for the adjective “positive” .  I want to focus on two of those:

8 b):  Pos-i-tive (adj) - marked by optimism

and

1 c): Pos-i-tive (adj) - fully assured, confident

Do you ever find yourself avoiding being positive (optimistic) about something until you are positive (confident and fully assured) about it?

Sara Westbrook, Singer/Songwriter ~ Motivational Speaker

‘Forgiveness is the key to the bars that imprison me.’
lyrics from Sara Westbrook song ‘Hearts Collide’

Forgiveness is something that seems very difficult to do. It is important to remember that forgiving someone isn’t saying what they did or said was right. It is saying that you are no longer willing to carry around the hurt, the pain, the anger.

Forgiveness is value #27 in the Positive Imperative Posivalues

Your ability to respond, becomes your range of responsibility…

Responsibility has many dimensions! Couretesy of Living Values .net

Responsibility has many dimensions! Courtesy of Living Values .net

PI concept creator Victor Sinclair looks both forward and backward at the Posivalue #20 of responsibility and its critical variable relationship with education and the awareness that changes perspective and lives.   It’s also a driving factor of the 232 Billion Dollar LOHAS community.

Have you ever asked yourself, what am I responsible for?  To really sit down and think about the topic of responsibility.   With a quick cursor its an easy topic to cover… I’m responsible to put food on the table, to pay my bills, to get my assignment completed and handed in, to not drink and drive etc., but have you ever taken that word and started to apply it to all aspects of your life, those places you take for granted and all those ones you never had.  Increasing your range of responsibility will change your life.

Hope is an often over used word in today’s world, but perhaps it needs to be examined it a great more detail in these tumultuous times.  Dr. John Schinnerer examines some important facets of that every day notion of hope……..

Path of least resistance

Catherine Graham, Personal Coach Motivational Singer/Speaker

Catherine Graham, Personal Coach Motivational Singer/Speaker

The Path of least resistance may be a wise decision if you are proactive and made as a conscious decision for your course of action.  All too often however it is the “Neutral Path”.  Personal Coach and motivational singer/speaker Catherine Graham looks at how that easy path of excuses may find its way into our lives for both children and parents and how it then may create even more obstacles in your life.

Excuses, Excuses

Go Beyond Self-Interest - Revisit Your Values

When you look in the mirror what do you see.  Who do you see.

Dr. John Schinnerer examines values as it relates to your core beliefs which ultimately define who you are and also how you look at Self-Interest and also how you look outwards into the world around you.

It seems that values have been rediscovered with the downturn in the economy. Many people are asking themselves “If it’s not money that makes me happy, what does make me happy?”
