Change the Light Bulb
Summer is almost over and most of us have been able to get away, enjoy some down time, breathe and hopefully been able to soak up some rays. Although summer is still here and things tend to be a bit slower, September is right around the corner and we will be getting back into the swing of things. Why not decide to do things a bit different this fall? Change the game a little, strive for new heights, bring more positive into your lives, strive for new goals and certainly a new part of ourselves.
If you are willing to take on this little fall challenge, I encourage you to reflect on 3 things in order to make this happen:
Sure you’ve heard this before and I’m sure you will hear you over again, however this time it’s really your chance to make a huge impact in your life. One little goal, one little habit changed, one little thing can impact your whole life. I am sure if we reflect back into some aspects of your life, you will find this statement above true, one thing/event impacted your life, as small as it might have been or as big as it might have been, you were changed.
So today let’s sit and analyse where you are in life, then take a look at where you want to be. What is it going to take to get you there? So it’s time to map out the plan. What small steps can you take everyday to achieve that goal? If you have to give something up, what will it be in order to dedicate yourself in achieving it. Fall is such a great season to brighten that light, commit and make it happen, after all it leads you to Christmas and wouldn’t it be such a great feeling to walk into January of 2014 achieving that goal? I would say so.
Along with setting goals out of your comfort zone it’s time to really open yourself up to new experience, meeting new people and experiencing life in a whole new way.
So pick something you’ve always wanted to try, maybe it’s a dance class, a writing class, you may want to learn a new language or you have been thinking about taking a certain workshop. Whatever it is, it’s time to try it out!
I decided that I wanted to get certified in this new aerobics style of dance so that I could teach people it, let loose a bit and of course learn something new! Kind of fun and it’s something I know nothing about and I actually look forward to the challenge. Embracing the change in our lives makes it a lot easier for us to move through the obstacles that face us and the more we can embrace it the easier it definitely gets!
This applies to all people whether you are in business or not. Find something that you can attend where you will meet people that you will have something in common with.
A few examples:
You really enjoy horseback riding, why not go to some events where they teach you to horse back, have sessions with other people where y
ou horse back and I am sure there are may others out there.
Maybe you really enjoy baseball. Join a league, go to the batting cages, maybe then even have a group that arranges to go to the baseball games.
Expanding yourself in this fashion will bring a renewed sense to your life. Sometimes I understand the challenge might be to get out the door and just like trying new things it’s a bit of a challenge at first but in the end it will be worth it.
If you are in business and are thinking about attending a new business event. There are many events happening in your area that you can take part in and I am sure that you will find at least one that you really enjoy. You never who you might meet, connect with and be able to help support.
So through this new change that is upon us, the choice becomes yours… will you change your light bulb, ignite your life into something different, take a chance to leap out at your new goals? I am not sure about you but I am definitely on board for it!
Always remember, you can do anything you put your mind to, just believe in yourself and know that you are worth it!
Much success as you finish off the latter part of 2013, may you receive everything you are willing to work for and do so with much positive love and light!
