With new beginnings our Easter topic of Posithanks there’s never any better day than today to start! So for my Easter there is a commitment to move forward to get on with life, to get off of the fence and do away with all of the other Neutrals and get on with life and the important tasks at hand.
Hence the beginning of my change in appearance.
The Story of a looming crisis.
So let’s start off with the obvious for all those who have known me for year….. Is Victor hitting a mid-life crisis? Shaving his head? What’s with that? Well the short answer is yes and no. Yes, midlife, yes crisis… but not in the sense of the typical lost dilemma and search to find yourself… but moreover the true root of the word. crisis, which in Chinese uses the symbols for danger and opportunity.
O.M.G. What’s with the head…. has Vic lost his hair, his mind or both?
The idea tarted about a year ago, when a good friend of mine Rohit Seth who happens to be a photographer said you have classic features and would look good with your head shaved. For me… that was not just stepping out of my comfort zone… that was leaping out of it….. So while I entertained the thought seriously…. I got into the ready aim, ready aim. For me with my thin frazzled hair always looking like the wind was going to blow it off, the idea of getting on with life and taking a natural part of youth and ego and doing away with it seemed appealing. What life seemed to get in the way, and it was wait for my daughter’s wedding, wait for the Summer, just not now… maybe next weekend.
The threat is getting lulled into complacency, status quo, ready aim ready aim and ready aim, which is somehow what the teacher was doing to himself….. waiting for certainty? Well there is no certainty in life other than the certainty if you stop you’re going nowhere. The law of displacement takes place and you’re soon moving backward. The problem becomes you can let things slow you down and or you can commit to a sense of urgency and purpose which is where I’m moving from and to with the Positive Imperative which for one reason or another has been taking too long to launch. The threat of course was that PI could easily move to the Neutral. Sometimes roadblocks and detours are a part of the journey but so too is the urgency with which we compensate for them. It’s far too easy to accept them as a full and compete truth and reality and trade their certainty of getting in the way with your certainty of where you want to go. Quite often the deciding factor becomes the urgency with which you approach your passion.
The second part of crisis is to understand the killer of all of our dreams and legacies lies just below the layer of procrastination and is found in the layer of stagnation when procrastination becomes entrenched. So as a milestone and jolt to my senses… off went the hair.
Now having said that… the notion wasn’t lost in me.. (not that it had a bearing on my actions) that now all the male bloggers of PI would have something in common…….. not by design… likely just because we have so much in the way of brains we can’t let any obstacles get in our way including hair :>) Not that we have complete control of that, okay we did have control over the blue shirts though ;>)
So as the 60 day relaunch of pI takes place Easter for me is a time for renewal, restoration and new beginnings. Having finished my second 10K ride yesterday, I’m getting in the momentum gear for the MS Rona Ride year two to continue my move forward for sound body and mind which got stalled with a little post parenting depression of a daughter moving out which I’m happy to say, I’m not reconciled and congruent with the total Positivity of the process… but trust me… it does take a while, and sometimes catches you completely off guard.
So there’s my story… I hope you like it, and moreover I hope you’ll join us in our lightspeed urgency for our drive to positivity. One song at a time and one positive word, thought action and deed at a time. It is our responsibility to effectively steward our world for the next generation!
PIQ Positive Imperative Question!
It’s Easter weekend… and a great time for rebirth, restoration, renewal and new beginnings. What’s yours going to be?
